Born in Italy this day in 1897, Frank Capra went on to become an award-winning film director. His most famous movies include It’s a Wonderful Life and It Happened One Night. He won a staggering six Oscars in the 1930s and 1940s. George Hoyningen-Huene photographed Capra sometime around 1934. Another fascinating exhibition in Venice… There is still one month left to see Lee Miller - Man Ray | Fashion | Love | War Showing at Palazzo Franchetti until 10 April, and featuring some of Hoyningen-Huene’s Vogue studies enlarged to a monumental scale. The exhibition begins with the story of Miller’s early modelling career in New York and collaborations in Paris with Hoyningen-Huene.
